SUNDAY EVENING CONVERSATIONS
“A place to be seen, heard and valued”

Practitioner Maggie Cole
"Laughter! What Does It Do For Us?"
“Laughter lightens the soul." ~ Adrienne Posey

“I have seen what a laugh can do. It can transform almost unbearable tears
into something bearable, even hopeful." ~ Bob Hope

“I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like
most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most
important thing in a person." ~ Audrey Hepburn

“There is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as
laughter and good humor." ~ Charles Dickens

“Always laugh when you can, it is cheap medicine." ~ Lord Byron

“Laughter is poison to fear." ~ George R.R. Martin - Game of Thrones

“If you wish to glimpse inside a human soul and get to know someone, don't bother analyzing their ways of being silent, of talking, of weeping, of seeing how much he is moved by noble ideas; you will get better results if you just watch them laugh. If one laughs well, There is a good person." ~ Fyodor Dostoevsky

The theme for this month is “Play”. What immediately came to my mind is what is called “Play Dates”. Something that appears to be negotiated, organized, with planned times of day, ideas of what will take place by parents for the designated children who will take part in the play dates.

When I was young, my mother would say, “Go out and play”, usually out of a need for us to leave the house. I doubt that she was thinking about our physical and mental well being, a need for exercise or self care. I didn’t realize at the time what a gift it was to my future, including freedom, the igniting of imagination, creativity and spontaneity, all coming from my mystical intuitive nature. I feel grateful that it grew all that and more, which has served and delighted me to this day. Tonight, let’s speak to Laughter and what it does for us as Spiritual beings having a human experience.
