"Balance: Giving and Receiving", Maggie Cole, RScP, Sunday, September 3, 7 pm

“Giving and Receiving, 2 sides of one coin, giving and receiving, oh what a joy”, lines from a song by Tom McCurry.  Here are Maggie's words about this service:   We are certainly told that it is more blessed to give than to receive. I have learned something else.  Unless and until I am willing to receive, my giving may feel like one of many things; obligation, duty, what is expected of me, even control. Receiving requires openness, vulnerability, surrender, trust and faith. “It’s holy, yes to give, and to receive is holy too”. Thank you, Tom, for this reminder. Calvin Johnson lovingly gives of himself and his music and we on Sunday Evening eagerly receive his generous offering.

"Across the Interfaith Table 2017", Sunday, August 27, 3:30 to 7:30 pm

Our Sunday evening service on August 27 has expanded to an afternoon and evening celebration of interfaith connection.  From 3:30 to 7:30, there will be workshops, a group program, and a vegetarian potluck. Learn about Islam, Judaism, Christianity or Sikhism -- or join in Dances of Universal Peace.  After one of these workshops from 3:45 - 4:45, come into the sanctuary for a beautiful program of interfaith prayers, readings and music that begins at 5 pm. Following that group program, there is a vegetarian potluck where you can get to know your neighbors. Doors open at 3:30 pm for this free event.  Come to one part or all.  If you plan to attend the potluck, please bring a vegetarian dish to share -- free of all meat and alcohol.  And, if possible, bring your own plates and utensils to save on clean up and trash. All are welcome to this free event, an annual Interfaith Council of Sonoma County gathering.  Have questions? Contact Rev. Tara at tara@cslsr.org or go to Acr
